A one page document signed by Monroe as President, granting 160 acres to Private John Thompson, of Roach’s Company of Artillery. This is an excellent example of the highly desirable military style land grant, with an engraved vignette at the upper left, depicting Ms. Liberty handing a land grant to a soldier, sword and young son by his side.
