Toscanini conducted at the La Scala Opera House in Milan before coming to the United States to conduct at the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, and the NBC Orchestra, which was created for him. A bust portrait photograph of Toscanini striking a pose in a tuxedo has been boldly signed in red ink in the bottom margin. A note on the reverse side indicates that the signature was obtained at the Chicago Civic Opera House in 1949. 5x7, B&W. $595
