A one page document signed by Adams as President, from January 10th, 1798, granting 683 acres of land, “in the territory Northwest of the Ohio River and above the mouth of the Kentucky River.” With a large, clear signature of Adams and co-signed by Secretary of State, Timothy Pickering. An embossed Presidential seal is affixed at the lower left. This document was signed in Philadelphia, which served as the nation’s capital after the Revolutionary War while the District of Columbia was still being built and developed. Material of Adams signed as President is scarce, as he was the only of the first five Presidents to serve a single term. $11,500.
